Review: New OxiClean Products

I have 2 boys . . . and a tomboy . . . who rarely get through a day without falling in dirt, or dropping food, or doing something else to cause stains on their clothes.  I have used OxiClean
powder in the past to brighten our clothes and get out stains, so I was ready to try 2 of their new products -- OxiClean Force Gel Stick Pre-Treater and OxiClean Max Force Power Packs.

The Gel Stick is to treat stains before they hit the washing machine. I often don't know about stains until they reach the washing machine, and this product is okay to use even after stains have set for a while. You can also use the stick on stains right away, but then throw it in the hamper for the next laundry load.

The OxiClean Power Packs are small packs of powder designed to boost color for all laundry loads.  Each of the products includes OxiClean's 4 in 1 stain-fighting power, so they will work on dirt, blood, grease and oil.

Just a couple days after my samples arrived, Nate had a soccer game.  He ended up with ground in dirt and grass stains on his white soccer socks (why are they white?) When he took off his clothes that evening, I told him to throw his uniform on top of the washing machine so I could treat the socks.

I wish I could share pictures, but Lydia deleted them from my iPhone by mistake.  I used the OxiClean Force Gel Stick Pre-Treater on the socks, and then threw in one of the OxiClean Power Packs into the load of clothes.  I treated them the same night, but didn't wash them until 2 days later.

I wish I could say that all the stains are gone, but I can say that every stain except the worst is gone.  I will treat them again, and if past experience holds true I imagine the stain will lighten over the next couple loads with extra treatment.  He only has one pair of soccer socks, so I wasn't able to avoid the dryer and run them through another wash before his next game.

Both of these products are brand new to the market, so watch for them in the laundry aisles this month!

  1. Two boys and a tom boy who sings dances and pretends to cook and yells "Dinner Boys." She's got the best of both worlds.
