Small Successes (Vol 26)

Over at Faith & Family Live, Danielle encourages moms to share three small successes they've enjoyed during the week. It's wonderful to click through and read about the successes of so many moms!

Here are mine for the week:

1. I sent out an email and reached out to the responses for my request for cleaning help. Having help with this task will make other things go much more smoothly, I know (from past experiences!)
2. I made spaghetti sauce in bulk - and froze enough for 4 more meals!
3. I had dinners planned for the 3 days I worked full-time out of the house.

Small Successes (Vol 25)

Over at Faith & Family Live, Danielle encourages moms to share three small successes they've enjoyed during the week. It's wonderful to click through and read about the successes of so many moms!

Here are mine for the week:

1. Went out with a friend for dinner. It's sort of a new friendship, and every other time we've gotten together it's been with our kids. It was nice to enjoy dinner, and then Barnes & Noble, and then a run to Wal-Mart for milk & diapers with her. She's a sweet, awesome, faithful, wonderful woman and I'm glad our friendship is growing.
2. Managed to get enough laundry done so that DH had clothes to take on his trip. He left yesterday for Milwaukee to surprise a friend for his 40th birthday and to visit our family & friends (including his uncle who is battling cancer.)
   
3. Planned 2 weeks of meals and made plans to get together and cook them all in one day with above-mentioned friend. I can't wait to see how this goes, and hope we can continue it!

Small Successes (Vol 24)

Over at Faith & Family Live, Danielle encourages moms to share three small successes they've enjoyed during the week. It's wonderful to click through and read about the successes of so many moms!

Here are mine for the week:

1. My oldest asked me kindly to go to the bookstore, and while I had work to do, and was tired, and thought of a million excuses . . . I picked up my purse and popped out to the car with him, leaving my other 2 home with my husband. He talked my ear off the entire ride over there, and impressed me with his growing conversational skills (So, Mom, which was your favorite part of the Ice Age movie? Hmmm, well I liked . . . ) Then, we spent almost an hour perusing books and didn't have to chase his toddler sister, or ask his brother to be patient. We were able to just wander together and look at books. On the way home, we had some deeper discussions (Well, I could be a dentist and a writer and a track runner and a magician. Because sometimes you have talents and you should just use them!) and even deeper discussions (I would feel absolutely awful if my best friend in the world died.) In the bustle of life, I don't always take the time to just "be" with my boys anymore. Last night reminded me how precious that is.
2. I was able to step back and not get involved in some drama that occurred. It was a very conscious decision to step away and it would have been easy to get drawn in. I am SO very glad I did not!
3. I got through 75% of the laundry :)

Small Successes (Vol 23)

Danielle Bean over at Faith and Family is hosting small successes--an opportunity for Moms to identify the little things they have accomplished in the craziness of daily life. Here are mine:

1. I received awesome reviews for the classes I taught this week. It especially makes me feel great when I'm told my patience is appreciated, and that I'm an excellent instructor.
2. I was able to take my family to the circus, thanks to my blogging efforts!
3. I created the time to hang out with a friend, in real life, at Starbucks with our 2 year olds, while our boys attended VBS. It felt great to just sit and talk -- with only one child each to watch over and not worry about cleaning house in order to visit. There's something wonderful about being able to look someone in the face while talking -- and not having a phone or computer screen between us.

Small Successes (Vol 22)

I really like Danielle's "Small Successes" idea, and have meant to keep up with posting on Thursdays, but realize I haven't done so in a while. So . . . here are my small successes for this week!

1. Everyone ate regular meals. This meant going out a couple times, but nobody went hungry this week!
2. I met every deadline I had this week, prior to the one I missed this morning.
   
3. We moved our computers into our new office space. (Let's not talk about the mess still remaining in our old office space . . . )

Hmmmm, I think I need to work more on focusing only on the successes! Off to read about others' small successes!

Small Successes (2)

Danielle, over at Faith & Family Live, is hosting the fifth week of Small Successes. It's a way for moms to remember to count the little things that keep our family moving forward.

1. I remembered to pack everything necessary, and got it done the nights before, for both the kids and me when I taught two days this week. I packed lunches, diaper bags, wrote assignments, packed backpacks and organized clothes.

2. I cleaned out a small corner in our garage.

3. I bought a bottle of Benadryl BEFORE the current bottle ran out, which is good because all 3 kids are sniffly and congested.

My Small Successes

1. I completed a piece of paperwork that needed to be done!

2. I snuggled with my oldest as he was recovering from surgery. He's a snuggler, but things have been busy and I haven't snuggled him as much as I should. I'm reminded to make the time!

3. I spent time alone with my 6yo this week. It's fun to talk with him one-on-one and listen to him chatter away without being interrupted by his older brother. I love to hear how his mind works and the things he wonders about.
